Ulcerative Lesions of Oral cavity

•Ulcerative lesions are a group of common oral mucosal disorders.

•The most common causes of these lesions are mechanical and reactive factors, infectious diseases, and neoplasms, as well as autoimmune and hematological disorders.

•The main clinical feature in all these conditions is an ulcer, which is defined as loss of all epithelial layers.

•In addition, the term “erosion” is used to defined a superficial loss of epithelium.

•However, at the clinical level, the terms “ulcer” and “erosion” are usually used interchangeably.
